I will be sharing mine with you soon. Two albums of the year for sure (King Krule and Kamasi Washington), but not a classic year for music. Sport will be England’s win in the first test in Argentina in the summer. One of the best matches I have ever seen. Music will be the Kamasi Washington gig in NYC last month. By the way I think the Bowie sale was 2016?

Thanks for heads-up on Bowie sale – will reflect more carefully on that front

Well, I pretty much nailed that in terms of the BAFTAS last night – 5 for Three Billboards including Best Film, Original Screenplay, Actress & Supporting Actor

  3. […] when the Best Picture is announced this Sunday, and if it’s not Martin McDonagh’s ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ , we can chalk it up to the long heritage of fallibility and short-sightedness of the Academy of […]

Albums of the year: Kamasi Washington – Harmony of Difference; King Krule: The Ooz; Four Tet – New Energy; Chicano Batman – Freedom is Free; Anouar Brahem – Blue Maqams. Re-issue: Pop Makossa The Invasive Dance Beat Of Cameroon 1976-84. Although it was released right at the end of 2016 I would like to include the superb Childish Gambino album.

Thanks, TLH – will work my way through these in next few days
